What do I need to know about Auto Insurance?

Bodily Injury and Property Damage

This coverage pays for bodily injuries to other people or damage to their property, if you are liable. It pays whether your car is driven by you, a qualified family member, or another driver using your car with your permission. In some cases, you're even covered in a car you borrow or rent temporarily. You select the monetary limits of your own policy.

Uninsured Motorist

Bodily injuries to you, qualified family members, and any other person occupying your covered vehicle, caused by an uninsured motorist or a hit-and-run driver, will be paid with this coverage. Uninsured property damage coverage is also available. You have the option to carry Uninsured Motorist coverage up to the same limits carried for Bodily Injury.

Comprehensive

With comprehensive coverage, damage to your car will be paid except when it is caused by collision or upset. Coverage includes damage from such causes as fire, vandalism, windstorm, falling objects, animals, water or flood.

Collision

Collision covers all accidental damage to your car by collision with any object or by upset. Coverage includes up to $200 for damage to your clothing or luggage while in the car. It pays up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, less the deductible you select.

Rental Reimbursement

Rental Reimbursement coverage is designed to reimburse you for the actual expenses incurred for the daily rental rate. You can choose between $25 or $50 per day for rental car reimbursement. Your car must not be available for normal use for more than 24 hours. This coverage cannot be purchased if Loss of Use coverage has already been selected. This coverage can be used for a covered loss, such as collision or theft of your vehicle.

Towing and Road Service

With just one toll-free call, Farmers service representatives across the United States and Canada will help get you back on the road quickly and safely. You can just sign for reasonable and necessary services up to $150 - no need for cash, check or credit card.

What does “full coverage” mean?

The term full coverage generally means that the insurance policy has both liability coverage and coverage for damage to your vehicle. The term full coverage does not mean that everything is covered no matter what happens. Your auto insurance policy declaration page lists the coverage’s you have selected. Please review your coverage's and insurance policy carefully to make sure that you know what you have.

Did you know that your car insurance doesn't provide coverage for items stolen from your car?

So if you tend to store sports equipment and CDs in your car, it is really important to get homeowners or renters insurance. This will provide coverage for your personal items left in your vehicle in the event of a loss.
